Truro is the only city in Cornwall - it is the place where the cathedral was built just over 130 years ago. It freely welcomes visitors and there are guided tours if you want to know more about all its important features - discover why, on the pulpit, Moses has horns!

The tea room is a great place to chill out and the cathedral shop has plenty of souvenirs to buy. At times you may hear the organist playing and feel the sounds as they echo around the vast space.

Truro is also the best shopping destination in Cornwall - although you might want to look elsewhere for simple reminders of your visit (the seaside places are often best for this).

The Royal Cornwall Museum is fascinating and often has special exhibitions to visit. If time is short you might still want to take a very short drive down along the banks of the river estuary to find a pretty and quiet park for a picnic lunch.
