Chapel Porth

Chapel Porth is a small cove near St Agnes, on the northern Cornish coastline.

The car park at the head of the beach means that this is a good lunch stop, especially in spring and autumn. From the beach the waves can sometimes seem very spectacular but when the tide is out several caves can be reached from the beach.

When the beach cafe is open, it sells delicious hedgehog ice creams - very yummy!
Treyarnon Bay

Approached down the narrowest of lanes, the bay sits hidden from the road. The large car park offers jaw dropping views as the Atlantic rollers break onto the beach.

Beach-side there is a wide range of refreshments; sipping a deluxe Hot Chocolate with the sound of surf and seabirds filling the air is just one of those never-to-be-forgotten moments. The rock pools are some of the finest on the North coast and many an hour can be spent dipping for crabs.

The home made ice cream from a local farm, the screaming gulls over the cliffs and the whooshing of the waves leaves the visitor to this fascinating beach with such wonderful memories. Even seen in the cold of the winter's day, the beauty of the place is to the fore. You may well see brave souls in woollies searching for treasure on the beach! Treyarnon just one little gem well worth a visit.
Swan Pool - Falmouth

This pebble beach inclines steeply into the sea and is a good place to sit and watch the large ships at anchor awaiting the tide to enter Falmouth Docks. Nearby, you can park overlooking the docks and often watch the mechanics far below - they look no larger than ants from this height.

The beach café is renowned not only for the special Hedgehog ice cream, but tuna melts to die for! The gently sloping path leads the venturesome to see sights of the sea and coastal scrub. You can walk about 1 mile into the next beach and try the café there, perhaps even getting the minibus to drive round to pick you you.

Swan Pool also has a mini crazy golf and the 'swanpool' itself, formed by the shingle which has dammed the stream, allows keen bird watches to see reed warblers and kingfishers. And if you sandwich was not to your liking then the ducks are always on hand to eat it!
