Medication
We are able to assist our guests with their medication. The Care Quality Commission
expect that guests should arrive with their medication which has been dispensed by a pharmacist
into packaged systems
such as Boots MDS, blister packs or similar systems. If we are handling the guest's medication, we cannot accept over-the-counter
medication such as paracetamol unless it has been prescribed by a
doctor and dispensed by a pharmacist.
We cannot accept any Controlled Drugs as we do not have the necessary storage
facilities for this type of medication.
It is essential that we are given details of current medication before the start
of the holiday. The Customer Information section on this web site can be used to
submit details. Once we have the information we will send you a Despatch Note which
lists the medication you have notified to us with space for you to enter the amounts
actually sent. Please make sure that any last minute changes in medication are clearly
indicated.
Please do not send excessive amounts of medication
but do ensure that there is enough for the day of departure.
Timing of medication
Please obtain advice on whether doses can be taken at breakfast (8 am),
before the evening meal (6 pm)
after the evening meal (8 pm) or at bedtime (10.30 pm)
If medication is required during the day when the guest is on outings,
advice on flexibility of timing is appreciated. In the case of PRN medication,
it is important to give an indication of the frequency and likely circumstances.
Medical or nursing treatment
If it is expected that any medical or nursing treatment will be expected
during the holiday, this should be pre-arranged through the local health
centre. Tel 01208 - 812222
