Assessment
Trevanion House is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI)
to provide holidays for adults with a learning disability. Part of the requirements
that imposes on us is that we make our own assessment of whether the services and
facilities available at Trevanion House are suitable to meet the needs of each individual
guest for each visit.
Since it is normally the case that we see a new guest only when they arrive on holiday,
we are dependent on information supplied to us by the person making the booking,
or another carer acting on their behalf.
We send out our Care Support Forms (
click here) well in advance and it is important
that these are returned to us by the dates specified. Without this information is
it possible that we are unable to accommodate a particular guest and cancellation
charges may apply.
Suitability
In addition to a learning disability, many of our guests also have needs in connection
with their physical abilities. Whilst we have various features which may assist
(ground floor rooms, hand rails and so on) our minibuses are not adapted to carry
passengers in wheelchairs. It is important therefore that all guests are able to
load-bear and to negotiate - with assistance - a small additional step into the
minibus. We are unable to lift passengers in or out of a minibus.
